Black Diamond Suspension Lift Kits - 1984-01 Jeep Cherokee / Wagoneer (XJ)
In 1984 Jeep introduced the downsized Cherokee / Wagoneer XJ to its line-up. The smaller pickup, introduced in 1986, is called the MJ. The new 4-link front suspension is conceptually the same design now used on the Jeep TJ. It consists of a solid front axle located by an upper and lower link on each side, a track bar, and coil springs. Traditional leaf springs positioned under the axle support the rear. These vehicles feature unibody construction, or a one-piece body and frame, as opposed to a separate body mounted on a rail type frame that is found on most trucks and SUVs.

Black Diamond®offers a complete 3" lift system. Front lift is achieved via replacement coil springs, while replacement lower links with polyurethane eye bushings correctly reposition the front axle in the wheel well and restore caster angle. Rear lift is achieved via full-length add-a-leafs that beef-up the notoriously weak factory springs. Replacement 2.5" rear lift springs are offered as an option for the XJ.
